Lohmann hosts the Fraunhofer IFAM's “Adhesive Bonding Technology Training Center”

Neuwied, September 12. As part of a three-day event, Lohmann recently opened the doors of its headquarters in Neuwied to welcome the renowned Fraunhofer IFAM Institute from Bremen and serve as a venue for its specialized training program.

Together with Fraunhofer/IFAM and leading industry representatives, the so-called “Adhesive Tape Bonder” (ATB) training program was launched in 2018 to meet increasing market demands and close existing gaps in general training courses in the field of adhesive bonding. Peter Harendt, Head of Global Application Engineering at Lohmann, emphasizes the important role of this program and its contribution to the industry.

With more than 170 years of expertise in adhesive tape technology, it was an honor for Lohmann to introduce participants from various industries (including the automotive industry) to the basics of material science, adhesive properties, testing techniques and other relevant topics at their TEC Center.

Volker Borst, trainer at the IFAM Training Center for Adhesive Bonding Technology, commented positively on the event: “The course content and the facilities were excellently coordinated and it was enriching to have so many practical examples on site. The opportunity to work with concrete materials was an enormous boost to understanding. A big thank you to everyone involved at Lohmann for their hospitality!”

Lohmann would like to thank everyone involved, especially the speakers Volker Borst and Buruk Sen, Head of Training at Innotech-Rot, for their commitment. The adhesive tape manufacturer congratulates the newly certified “Adhesive Tape Bonders” and looks forward to supporting and promoting similar initiatives in the future.
